[Amazon.ca] Anker PowerCore Fusion 5000 Battery + Charger $29.99

Solid deal - picked one up a few months ago. Very handy for travelling. Down to $29.99, $20 off on Amazon. Apple sells a version with USB-C for $130.

The benefit is the built in wall charger for 2 devices + portable battery. Handy for travelling light.

Good idea, BUT ....

- Output is only ~ 10W, so you won't get fast charging from it at all, and you can only charge cellphone from it. No chance on charging Nintendo Switch, no chance on laptops
- As a power bank, 5000mAH really isn't much

I think if it's a charger / powerbank that has 10,000 mAH and 30W output then it can essentially replace 2 devices in my bag (my laptop charger and power bank) but as is, it cannot replace either device. 10W output is really not cutting it and 5000mAH is also on the low side.

I'll wait for the next generation of these hybrid devices

I love to concept but 5k seems a little small capacity to carry around a brick. I'd only consider this if it had 10k or more given how cheap and available 5k gumpack size packs are out there.

For 34 cents more you can get the Anker PowerCore 13000 Portable Charger with PowerIQ fast charging.

Yes you need a charger and cable, but most of use have plenty of those lying around.

it doesn’t have USB-c its a micro USB, the images tricked me and I didn’t read when I bought ;/

I got it a while back, and I don’t know, it’s nice to carry one less cable but overall not great cause you can easily get a faster larger power bank for the same price

Does this do Power Delivery? As a charger? As a powerbank?

I have this unit. I use it as my main charger. The nice thing about this unit is it is basically always charged. I always have it plugged in and when I need it to go I can take it.

basically the selling point about this is that you can charge tablets etc on it, and it charges itself at the same time and let's say a kid plugs in their tablet and you guys hve to go to a restaurant you can bring the tablet and charger at the same time to keep it charging.

Great concept. If they come out with USB-C PD I'm all over it.
