5$ is no big deal.

Trouble is, I haven't used it yet. Just tested it.

I will use it for business presentations, transferring files over ethernet.

Misleading title. It does not give 60w power delivery. It requires at least 60w power to deliver 48w passthrough to charge your device according to the description.
"Power delivery: get a maximum 48W charge for your MacBook while using the USB C hub with a 60W wall adapter (The USB C hub requires 12W for operation)."

I bought the Vilcome usb-c adapter last week on a lightning deal, if anyone is looking for a cheaper alternative Ethernet dongle. Very fast transfers between my Thinkbook and HTPC.

Vilcome adapter.

Was hoping I could use this as a “travel dock” for Nintendo Switch but the item description unfortunately lists the Switch as incompatible.

Ehh. Anker is a known brand and I am not a fan with the # of ports there are on that one side. Sure you get more inputs, but I’ve had USB C hub layouts where 3 full size USBs become unusable because of how tight they fit them in. It’s not the hub’s fault but USB sticks are chunky. I fear that 3 USBs and 1 HDMI is cramming too much on one side.

It shows up as $38.99 and your "lightning deal" comment is irrelevant because no one else is getting in unless you can provide a time machine, Doc Brown.

Not worth the effort to save 5$, plus I purchased it during Black Friday. The return window is closed

The other downside, if you scroll down to the Product Description, it clearly says that it is incompatible with the iPad Pro. That is the device I plan on using it with. No problems with the Anker one.
