[Amazon.ca] Apple Magic Keyboard (US Eng) for Ipad Pro 12.9 inch (4th Gen 2020 version) $349 ($100 off)

Expensive AF but for those who want it, it rarely goes on sale. $100 bucks off.

Please note this is for the 4th Gen, or 2020 and before Ipad Pro 12.9 inch. Youtube reviewers do say that it will fit the new M1 2021 Ipad Pro 12.9 inch, it’s just a little snug when you close the keyboard against the iPad.

upvoted because it's true that it's rarely ever on sale, so might be useful to those who are looking. thanks OP

but even though i think Apple makes a lot of great stuff, even i cannot justify a a $300+ keyboard!

Bah I need one for the 11”. Sucks as amazon in the US has had both the 11 and 12” versions for $100USD off numerous times but we don’t usually get anything decent.

it was 279.99 for a couple hours mid june before selling out. glad i copped one then.

does anyone know how legit/fake the kijiji posts are?

their smart folio/magic keyboard are really cheap.
Makes me wonder if they were stolen goods or fakes.

I can’t justify buying one either, even though I really want one. I got the Apple Folio keyboard instead, for almost half the price.

How do you like the folio?
I'm not sure I'd need the trackpad...

It does it’s job fine. The tactile feel is shit, and needs alot of force to activate. Lack of backlighting sucks typing at night too. Taking the iPad off the keyboard is also a pain in the butt compared to the Magic keyboard, and I take the keyboard off alot to use as a tablet.

I do wish I had a trackpack so I can keep my oily fingers off the screen, but doing that defeats the purpose of paying so much for the iPad. Might as well get a Macbook Air for cheaper lol.

Love logitech stuff, but the blutooth requirement kills it. I don’t want to have to pair it all the time. If they came up with the pogo pin connection I’d buy their stuff in a heartbeat.

How about a $2 capacitive stylus? They work great. Just make sure to get the fabric/cloth tip ones as opposed to the rubber tipped ones.

I have the apple pencil. I only use it for drawing mostly. I have blutooth turned off all the time (for security reasons), and it’s a pain to turn on and pair when I’m typing already.

Like new Magic Keyboards and Smart Keyboard Folios can be had on eBay from US resellers for ~$200 CAD.

I got a Smart Keyboard Folio for my iPad Pro 11 2020 for only $130 taxes and customs in. Just search for 'magic keyboard (size)' and filter for North America only. You'll find some good deals.

It came looking good as new and even had the original box.

I had the 11 inch keyboard with 20% EPP off at Best buy 1.5 years ago. I found it heavy and hard to use on laps or planes. I returned it and bought the logitech folio touch for $200 instead which is a lot steadier when not on a desk.

If you want a desktop replacement, I'd suggest getting a M1 MBA instead.

FYI, the new M1 12.9" pro may not work with this magic keyboard... can't really find much concrete evidence online, but something about the 0.5mm thickness difference between the two generations? Can someone chime in on this?

I have the 11inch. The magic keyboard is a game changer for the iPad. I’m a basic user (surfing, watching videos). The iPad is more than enough for me. And the keyboard comes in handy when i need to type.

new line of Logitech for iPad pro does have the smart connector.
The top of the line one has a detachable keyboard but… cannot be used as a “laptop” kind of like the MS surface
