[Amazon Canada] ASTRO A50 Wireless Gaming Headset (Playstation 4, PC) $329.99

ASTRO Gaming A50 Wireless Dolby Gaming Headset, Black/Blue (Playstation 4, PC)

$329.99 down from $399.99.
First time on sale since Black Friday and Boxing day.
I know lots of people hate this brand but I think their quality is undeniable.
Bestbuy also has the same price but I'd go with Amazon since eBates can save you a bit more and they might be more flexible with returns unlike BB who most likely won't return opened headsets.

Bestbuy has the Xbox model for the same price unlike Amazon who has only the PS4 one on sale, so if you want the Xbone one go with BB.

Good day everyone.

I have had the same wired Astro A40s, REFURBISHED, since 2013, and have had no issues. I currently use it between my PS4/XB1/PC. That was one of my best investments ever. Although I am at the point where I do want a wireless option.

I have had my A50s for years now, love them!
I'm considering getting a new one though.

Looks like a nice headset, but more than I'll shell out for one.

I've tested out a lot of headsets, and the A50's are still my favourite (and what I use personally). Expensive, yes—but they are tops for sound, comfort, and especially functionality (you really can't beat the audio mixer being built right into the ear cup).

The upcoming Sennheiser GSP 600's are pretty close, but are still a wired headset for only $70 less ($330 MSRP), so right now the A50's are the same price—but wireless.

That said, there is an upside to a wired set like the Sennheisers if you're a multi-platform gamer considering that you don't have to buy a separate $140 dock if you want to use the same headset on both major platforms...

I have the a40s and love them.

They are super comfortable and love the sound. Plus the mix amp works great.

Friend has the A50s and the same as my A40s but wireless.

Have these and absolutely love them. Only thing I would say as a negative is placing them in the cradle can be a bit finicky and sometimes they loose charge when just sitting on the cradle. Why is beyond me.

These won't work on the PS4 slim if I am correct? Since the slim doesn't have an optical port.

Id have to double check but i think you can connect them via HDMI, or if not, through the optical port on your tv...

No HDMI port on the mixamp (maybe will work with usb) and the optical on tv are almost always in stereo so no real 5.1 surround.

audeze mobius, while have some bugs, you can routinely find them for 250-300 bucks. probably sound better than this one. 300 for a dynamic wireless headphone is too much.

I have the A40s with the wireless mixamp since the launch of PS3. No problems. NONE. Best investment ever and would likely last until PS6 at this rate. Everyone who contemplates the high costs should consider how many headsets they will buy within 10 years. In this analysis you should consider the quality of the headset you will purchase both sound (input and output) and comfort.

I got A40 TR with mixamp pro TR for $155 on PM at Best buy a couple years ago and use it on PC and love it. Would buy a spare if I were to ever be able to repeat that.
