It's nothing to do with the actual physical connector, it's the USB standard that is different.

pixel is this:

USB Type-C™ 18W adaptor with USB-PD
15W - 18W charging

if I'm remembering correctly, normal usb 2.0 charging is 5v 2a, and apple usb is 5v 2.4a. someone on reddit says this about pixel: "9V/2A (18W) is a rate that falls under the USB-PD charging standard. 5V/3A (15W) is the regular USB-C charging rate. The USB-PD 9V/2A is the fast charging rate the Pixels use"

the max 9v USB PD spec according to wikipedia is 9v 3a 27w. so that means a charger like this: http://www.belkin.com/us/p/P-F7U004/ is overkill for pixel, but exactly the spec it takes.

pixel does not use qualcomm quick charge, so I have no idea how they interact

Ahhh so pixel does not use qualcomm quick charge.... so these 2 I purchased should be compatible since it says its 5V 2.4A correct?
