[Amazon.ca] AUKEY 4K Dash Cam - $97.99 - Model: DR02 J

Just got an email about some amazon offers and this Aukey Dash cam seemed like a good price.

I want to hear more from some experienced dash cam enthusiasts or even just regular owners on this model and if it’s a good purchase?

The aukey line is generally good w/ the sony sensor, but lacks having any kind of audible/permanent notification that recording to SD is not working. For the basic use case of 'set it and forget it', it fails miserably on this regard. Personally, I wouldn't buy them again for this reason because SD cards fail, and a failed recording is going to happen when you need it the most.

This one doesn't have a Sony sensor, it's the ON/Aptina AR0521.

I notice that they are specifying the field of view as 157 deg instead of the routine 170 deg lens spec that's just misleading - but it's hard to tell if they have suddenly decided to stop being misleading, or this dashcam actually does have a narrower field of view.

AR0521 looks much better in that video, btw, how is this 4k at 2880x2160?
