[Amazon.ca] Beelink SER5 Mini PC, Ryzen 5 5560U(7nm, 6C/12T) up to 4.0GHz, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 500GB NVME SSD, Windows 11 Pro

$415.29 CAD for 1 piece only. If you buy 2, you get an additional 5% off and the price becomes $395 CAD. I just bought 10 to replace all the PCs in the office, I'll keep one as a spare.

I know the manufacturer is Chinese and the support can be so and so, but you can't beat the price for it with 16GB Ram, 500GB SSD and Windows 11 Pro included. Plus the Ryzen 5 5560U runs very cool with a 15W TDP, doesn't throttle under load, the fan is very silent on the Beelink SER5 and it heats up way less than competing Intel NUC boxes (28W TDP).

Must have been a price error because link is wrong now. The proper link has it $520 - $40 coupon for $480 which is a fine price, about the same as on Beelink's Aliexpress store, but nowhere near the $395 our lucky OP got!

Here is a review with gaming benchmarks, though I don't suggest spending this kind of money for games when a console would do better. The reviewer says it's quiet on low power mode, which is exactly how this thing should be used, as a very powerful little crappy computer. The 5560U is a very strong at that. Usual caveat: Beelink ISN'T a big brand with trustworthy quality or support, and that's why their stuff is cheaper.

This particular Beelink model was on sale for $415 starting about 10 days ago so it probably sold out. I was considering it but didn’t buy it at the time. Also there is almost no customer support.

Here’s another brand with the same specs for $415 (TrigKey):

Limited-time deal: 6 Core 12 Thread Mini Computer W11 Desktop PC Ryzen 5 5560(Up to 4.0GHz) 16G DDR4+500G NVME SSD 35W TPD Micro PC | 6Core 1600MHz HD Graphics | WIFI-6E | BT 5.2 | Dual HDMI | Type-C | W11 https://a.co/d/c1iWkNf

(EDIT: it just went up to $519 overnight)

Keep in mind the USB-C port on this computer does not support connecting to a monitor, although there are two HDMI ports. You need to upgrade to the 5600H model if you really want triple monitor support (USB-C and 2xHDMI).

The operating system boots off an NVMe drive but the PC also has support for a secondary SATA drive.

ATL on this configuration is $375.

$415 with $40 coupon

The OP deal at $415 with 5% off was available for a good two months or so. You can see it mentioned in the ASUS mini PC thread.

How are the cooling in these mini pcs? Can the CPU gets boosted to their max capability and be kept at that speed? Will it get noisy from higher frequency?

@CCorbu Just an FYI, for some reason your link in original post is for SER6. Your purchase was for SER5, it's a lower level CPU with minor changes, thus a price difference.

For those interested in purchasing, a proper link should be one in post #8 as CPU and other components corresponds to SER5 model and not SER6 model in original post.

Overall, I think this is a pretty good price point for the setup! 16G Ram, 500G Storage SSD, a pretty good mid level AMD CPU, and a WIN 11 Pro license if I am not mistaken.

Note: Interesting... Post #10 has a competing brand or something with the same configuration, it's the same price as well, seems like there are other options too... hmm... OK, nevermind, this model is $100 more...

1) Terrible, smaller and worse than a laptop. 2) No, not even close. 3) This would only be quiet when limited to 15W. Small crappy computers like this are usually noisy under load, often with wretched fan curves that you can hear go up and down, and the faster ones get even noisier.

I have a beelink and would buy again. Fan never comes up, PC can chomp through word or 4k YouTube if I need it to but I mostly use it for my server stuff.

Of course people think they can game on anything and this makes others call these “terrible”.

Same for me. I got it with the $415 deal a while back. The fan did get up a little bit if I really pushed to 100% for an extended period of time. But it was not that noisy, at least compared to my company provided Dell laptop which would scream even during virus scanning run. So not sure how it could be 'worse than a laptop'. It is amusing that people would just make assumption and comment on something that they didn't have experience with. I think the only concern usually is with Beelink the company itself. Heard of some terrible support experiences. So I am crossing my fingers mine won't need any services.

I will explain it for you. This computer is smaller than a laptop, which means the cooler it can fit is smaller. The reason your old laptop was loud during a virus scan is a separate issue: older CPUs are less efficient and need more power to do the same work.

Apologies, the Beelink SER5 seems to have disappeared from the link. Even when I click on the order details in Amazon, it brings up the SER6, not the SER5.
It was $415 for 1 and $395 for 2.
