Sonos Play One (latest gen) speakers on sale, both black and white versions. According to CCC this is at the lowest it's been. Happy listening!

Holy baloney! I was very close to buying this yesterday! Thanks!

By the way does anyone know if the One SL speaker has the Gen2 or Gen1 technology?

This is subjective, but I wouldn't trust them.
A company that sometimes makes bad decisions and then amends it after listening to customer feedback and complaints?! HOW SHAMEFUL!

One SL just doesn’t have the voice assistants.
Today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday.

A lot of us here got it for $185+tax and then received a $65 credit (so ~$145 taxes in) from Amazon back last July.

Although I disagree that we should not care about the Recycle mode issue, I do think this was the bigger problem:

After spending years building a whole home system, they can decide to flip a switch and stop parts of or are all of it from working.

Anyways, I had already heavily invested in the Sonos infrastructure before this and love them; however, these types of practices should absolutely be part of your buying decision.

I think it's fair and makes sense. The technology can't handle the increased bandwidth, at least the 15 year old speakers still work.

Speakers have typically lasted for longer than 15 years, but yes, I agree, smart speakers are a different beast.

I'm not even saying that it isn't "fair" necessarily (though they definitely could have handled it better) but it IS definitely something someone should know before buying.

I would look towards the SL model instead, the voice assistant support on this is absolutely atrocious. Picked one up when we were given a $65 credit from Amazon and GA support was useless, erroring out more often than not and Sonos support just couldn't resolve it for me. Ended up returning it and just went back to my Google Home; improved audio quality, but terrible GA support wasn't enough for me to keep it.

i missed out on the refurb sale for $139.

Good price considering the Ikea Symonisk is $149.

Don't forget 1% Rakuten.
