Costco would be a better deal than what Amazon offers for bulky stuff like this.

What is the Costco sale price? I thought it was at least $16.

So how is Costco a better deal?
Not to mention you need to drive there, fight for a parking.

Something is wrong with the amazon subscribe and save.
It wont let me see my subscriptions.

Costco sells the Bounty Plus version right now that is 50.2 m^2 in area for $16.79, giving a unit cost of $0.334 per m^2.

The Amazon version is only 40.2 m^2 in area for $15.77 delivered now, giving a unit cost of $0.392 per m^2.

With 5% Subscribe and Save, the Amazon cost is $14.98 with unit cost of $0.373 per m^2. Still higher than Costco.

Only when you have 15% Subscribe and Save with 5 other existing items do you get down to the same unit cost as Costco. So it is only worthwhile if you are in this situation.

I hate Costco more than anyone else but my math above shows why Costco is the better deal right now. Paper towels are like toilet paper, you really have to crunch the math since they make multiple varieties with the same names and Costco has the bigger version.

Good analysis, but the if you take the gas cost into account, it may be the same price.
Anyway, for me, I have no Costco membership. Amazon will do. It is close enough.

Stop using 15% S&S for calculations. A massive majority of people do not have five monthly items. Use the 5% that you get with one item. If someone has five then even better.

the other problem with S&S is that you need to check the price before it ships. It might be a good deal when you sign up for it, but the next time you buy, the price might have gone up

Disagree. Especially If you use this many paper towels you probably get the 15% every month.
