Cable pulley system you can attach to your existing power rack, beam in your basement, squat rack, etc.

Comes with the the pulley, 1.8m long cable, 1 short bar, 2 handles, hanging strap, 6 caribiners, loading pin and tricep rope.

Checked a bunch of different ones on Amazon, there are others that are similiar in price but do not include all of the same accessories or have a much lower weight capaicty(like 40lbs).

C C Cshows it's at an all time low today from a high of $108.99

A 1 inch steel pulley has a working load of 40lb amd static load of 200lb.

If you move it aggressively, the safe load might be even less than 40lb. If you move it very very slowly and steadily, you will then 200 probably thing.

I guess you can separatly buy stronger wire and pulley for a higher load for $30. But then why bother with this set at all.

Okay I'll play along... selecting pieces similar to the 220lb load capacity.

You can buy this pulley for $8.48
https://www.homedepot.ca/product/everbi ... 1001026830

then buy 6 of these caribiners at $4.28 each
https://www.homedepot.ca/product/everbi ... 1001539103

then buy the cable at $27.53
https://www.homedepot.ca/product/everbi ... 1001028058

which already puts you at $62.05

Then you'd have to measure, cut and secure the cable to hold the load.

In addition, you would need to buy the tricep rope attachment($15-20), the 2 single handles($6-10 each) and straight bar(~$20)

So for $120 or so, yeah you can build your own if you want to... and that's still without the piece that holds the weight plates.

poor quality

I used this specific model last year, it took me 2 or 3 back workout sessions with ~150-180 lbs for the cable protection to come off.

It gets very noisy after the cable wrapping breaks.

I should have done that.. but I have not bothered contacting the seller.

My point was not about the seller or their customer service.
This is for small muscle groups, if you want to pull heavy weight, get a bigger and better cable system.

->> Do not buy this is you want to train your back and usually can deadlift 3 or 4 plates, I thought I had only put 180 at most, but the pulley can't take much weight.

The point was not cost. It was determining the real safe capacity: 40lb vs 220. It's probably not 220.

i built my own cable system last year for probably around $30 minus all the attachments.

the cable you linked is overkill as you will not need 50 feet - it is 0.39/foot at canadian tire

Been eyeballing these. Feeling limited with my covid powerblock setup and would love a pull down of some sort. But I also want a second pulley. Might be best to get one of these as a starter kit then hit the depot to beef it up.

How are you guys securing the pulley? I’m thinking of getting this but wondering if it’s meant to be secured to the ceiling somehow or something else? I’ve got a power tower and I’m thinking of using the top of that maybe?
