The story of Campbell Soup began more than 140 years ago when Joseph Campbell, a fruit merchant and Abraham Anderson, an icebox maker, formed the Joseph Campbell Preserve Company in Camden, New Jersey producing and selling canned fruits and vegetable preserves. It wasn’t until 1897 that the concept of condensed soup was born. Condensed soup revolutionized how North Americans could easily and quickly feed their families with affordable, delicious and nourishing soup. Soon the Company expanded to 21 kinds of condensed soups, all of which sold for 10 cents a can. On November 28, 1930, the wholesome, convenient goodness of the famous “red and white label” finally came to Canada. Nine months later in New Toronto, just north of Lake Ontario, Campbell’s Toronto Plant opened its doors and quite literally fired-up the kettles! Some can still remember the early days, when the start of tomato soup production season marked the town with “help needed” notices written on the sidewalks of Lakeshore Boulevard in chalk. Campbell came to rely on our community a great deal and many generations of families since have continued to contribute to Campbell’s success. 80 years later, we’re still here in the original building, stronger and as committed as ever to providing Extraordinary, Authentic Nourishment For All.

Max 6 cans per acct. allowed.
Vegetable beef is at the same price and temporarily out of stock but it allows you to place an order and maybe they'll fulfill it.

I used to love this stuff, but I try to avoid now due to high sodium levels. Does it really need to have MSG? C'mon Campbells! Drop the MSG, get the total sodium for the whole 540 mL can to under 50% of my daily intake, and we can do lunch :) Upvoted! Thanks OP.

I love salt. I have very low blood-pressure and my doctor said there is no problem with me having salt; however, my iron levels are too high so I have to avoid iron-rich food of any type :(

Yes. It's what makes it taste "good".
Or rather less bad.

Even if they did drop MSG directly, there's 2 other sources in there.
It's impossible to avoid MSG because it's naturally occurring in so many things.

Not that it matters anyway since MSG allergies are bullplop.

There's no scientific evidence that MSG is less healthy or safe compared to regular salt.

I just had the Chunky clam chowder today and it's quite meh. Is this one better?

The Chunky clam chowder was quite good until about 18 months ago. Then Campbell's decided to make it cheaper and nastier. Now it's crap.

Maybe I'm a snob (ok, definitely not maybe) but pretty much all canned soup is meh.
