This is THE rower to get, unless you have a hard on for House of Cards and need the water version.

Great deal, it was at $1757 yesterday but dang, was hoping it would drop to $1250 again. Only a few dollar difference from Rouge since shipping is included with Amazon.

Think it's less about 'ooo famous water one' than it is about household noise.

Agreed. This is the standard that you'll see at gym studios/rowing studios/rowing clubs. Would highly recommend and this is a pretty fair price for it too

Comes out to same price with taxes and shipping, but I could have bought a GC at Sobeys and get AMEX rewards points, which is like 5%

For reference the one from rogue fitness after shipping and duty fees works out to around $1550 (to BC.)

I have a water rower, there is pro's and con's to both.
water rower is a lot more quieter and it's sound and feel more natural.
on the other hand the concept 2 offer a way better computer with games can give you the motivation to work out more.
I love my water rower BUT if I could go back in time I would buy the concept 2 instead of the water one.

I keep waiting for my Nordictrack to crap out so I finally have an excuse to upgrade. The seats are on plastic bearings, so it wasn't really built to last.

I would argue, you should sell your Nordictrack now.

This is the greatest chance ever to unload fitness equipment that even last year would have been a hassle to sell.

Concept 2 Rowers have really good re-sale value, so whatever you get for your old rower will probably cover the depreciation for if/when you eventually sell the Concept 2.

The only argument against doing that might be if someone thinks the prices on Concept 2 Rowers will go back down. I personally don't think it is going to happen anytime soon. But others might think differently.

Hopefully this is a good sign that things are going in the right direction in terms of Concept 2 catching up on manufacturing these things. Previously, used ones were selling for more than new ones used to sell for. The demand has been very high.
I will tell my grandchildren about the deal I got on an HP Touchpad at the Bank street staples thanks to rfding.

In stock at Rogue as well. Ships from the USA by UPS, but they take care of duty/customs fees.

A suggestion for anyone buying from someone that's now been rowing for a couple of months. Buy one of these too. Get the XL version. Your ass will thank you.

This ended up being even better advice that I was expecting - I put my Nordictrack on Kijiji for slightly above what I paid to test the waters and instantly got tons of offers. I realize now that you're right, I should jump on the next available chance I have to order a new one and sell my current rower after the fact, shouldn't be any trouble at all.

So for future reference, am I right in seeing the Amazon sale price and the Rogue Fitness price come out to about the same after duties and taxes, about $1550? My original plan was to stick it out and buy one of the units from the Canadian Indoor Rowing Championships for $1230 all in which beats Amazon's low of $1366 after tax, but who knows if it'll even be held this year.
