[Amazon.ca] Corsair K100 RGB Optical-Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Corsair OPX RGB Optical-Mechanical Keyswitches - AXON Hyper-Proces

Possibly the best keyboard in the business. Uses the new Optical switches from Corsair.

4.8 / 5 stars on amazon with 1000+ ratings.

9.6 rating on Rtings - best gaming keyboard.
https://www.rtings.com/keyboard/reviews ... r/k100-rgb

Basically the best premium keyboard on the market - as per anyone.

(I think the new Asus Claymore II might be a tad better, with USB C, wireless and 100 / 80 option. But retails for $339 and mus import from USA)

I know this is a gaming keyboard but have to say that those macro keys are a nightmare for work and typing.
Used to own a Logitech G710+ and have all the macro keycaps pulled off to help locating keys Face With Tears Of Joy

Same here, I ended up returning a G615 because of them.

can we just agree that a 13% discount is never a hot deal and not worth posting here unless it's a big ticket item in the thousands.

That is kind of elitist don't you think?

It is a $40 + tax savings.

Is it much worse then a $50 item that is 50% off?

This $300 Corsair keyboard is kind of aimed towards elitist thinking they are getting best gaming keyboard, no?

This K100 is, by far, the best gaming keyboard I've used. The only downside would be the Corsair software, which I did not install. I also have a Razer Huntsman Elite and the Huntsman feels like a cheap $30 keyboard in comparison.

The optical switches are amazing. They are extremely responsive and very smooth. I also use optical switches on my mouse. They combine for exceptional gaming controls. They don't only provide an advantage, they are a joy to use. I am never going back to mechanical switches. Optical switches are game changers for gaming enthusiasts.

Optical switches are superior because there is no 'debounce' processing. With mechanical gaming keyboards, click latencies of 10-20+ ms are not uncommon because of debounce processing which can be poorly implemented. Furthermore, they should be more reliable. Over time, the metal components in mechanical switches are affected by oxidation and dust which causes problems. In mice, this is what causes the double click bug and in keyboards it causes 'chatter'.

The wrist rest is amazing. It attaches with very strong magnets which have not accidentally disconnected once.

The PBT keycaps are very good. I believe the K100 has a standard key layout, unlike past Corsair keyboards. The stabilizers are lubed. Because the switches are so smooth, the typing experience is very good for linear switches.

I loved the media controls on my old K95 and they are just slightly better on the K100.

Even though it is expensive, I highly recommend it to gaming enthusiasts.

It's also on sale @ Best Buy for almost the same price:

The idea is the % off not the absolute amount. A hot deal is only a hot deal because of the relative pricing. Also yea I really dont care about $40+ tax that much

Hot deals are relative and subjective. To someone shopping for a top tier optical keyboard, this is a much hotter deal tham saving a $6 total on 6 cans of pineapple slices -- which was also a great deal that I appreciated very much! There are only a few keyboards that compete.

yeah but if one optical diode goes out then your whole $300 keeb goes down the drain. with a mech, at least you can swap the dead switch out (solder or hotswap).

But you literally just said for big ticket items low % is okay? 🤦‍♂️

Lol if you don't care about $40+tax you must really hate scrolling through RFD.

Some items rarely go on sale, $40 off this keyboard is pretty good. Thanks OP

Honest question - if the macro keys are all on the side of the keyboard- how do they possibly get in the way of typing for work?

I actually use the macro keys to help tab through my main programs at work.

1. Outlook
2. Teams
3. Word
4. Sharepoint
5. Chrome
6. Discord
Its nice to be important, but more important to be nice.

Thanks to a previous thread about keyboards I picked up the epomaker niz plum, wanted to recommend it here too. Best typing experience I have ever had if you care more about the typing vs gaming and rgb stuff.

One of the best keyboards I have ever used. Some people describe it like typing on clouds.

For reference I picked up the atom 68 one for 156 taxes in on Amazon.

At some point the amount matters, 13% off a $5000 item is over $500 that matters to just about anyone. stay special

Personally when I try to press the ESC key I would press a macro instead.
