[Amazon.ca] Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200MHz - $94.99

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01EI5 ... image&th=1

As good as it gets for a 2x8GB DDR4 3200 MHz Kit

Could wait for Black Friday for a potentially better deal but sub $100 for 16GB 3200 MHz is solid IMO.

3200 MHz is the sweet spot for OC'ing with the new Ryzen 3rd Gen CPU's. Could buy this as a place holder until Black Friday then return this in it's brand new condition for a refund if a better deal is found then, return policy is 30 days IIRC.

What's the return policy for this? Must be unopened or unused for 30 days return right?

Amazon has never not taken one of my returns. Used or otherwise they take everything back.

People said CL14 is the sweet spot for 3200mhz which is equivalent to a 3600mhz CL16. Hmm. Hoping 32GB or 64GB kits go on sale too.

Thanks OP. :)

Going to wait for 32GB kit but good to know that the astronomical prices are finally coming down!

Thanks OP

I recently purchased Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 X 8GB) DDR4 3000 (PC4-24000) C16 1.35V for $106 + taxes from Amazon for a new Ryzen 5 3600 build.

Any reason to NOT return that and purchase this?

Well seeing as both your kit and this Corsair kit both use Hynix A-dies, I would say it makes no difference really. You’re basically returning the same thing to buy the same thing back.

If you want to actually get something good for your system you should return these and get some Micron E dies or better yet some Samsung B dies

The best ram for OC'ing right now for Ryzen 2000/3000 (price to performance) is the GSkill FlareX 3200 C14. The Samsung B die those things have can tighten up so much more or just leave them stock. Usually 165.00 though, Canada Computers was the lowest price I could find for them. Look great too, without any RGB stuff. I was able to OC mine to 3600 C15 on this kit.

Just jumped on this, thanks OP!

I already have 16 in my system with Ripjaws V series 16gb PC4 25600. Any reason why they won't play nicely?

I returned this exact RAM a few months back, I opened it and used it for a day. They give you a list of reasons for the return, depending on which one you pick they may charge return shipping but I have never heard of them not accepting a return.

Never mix ram modules of different kinds, especially the timings.

Not sure if different frequencies would be fine?

If you abuse their return policy, they can deny you. Just like Costco.

Figures. I bought the white 16GB kit literally a few weeks ago for my first PC build. Ran me $110 before tax.

You're welcome I guess.

Ignoring the actual brand difference, the specs match up with the exception of the timings. My Ripjaws timing is 16-18-18-38 and Corsair timing is 16-18-18-36, would the impact really be that noticeable?

Nothing special about this particular RAM at that price - you can buy Gskill Ripjaws 2X8GB 3200Mhz CL16 all day long under $90.

You can even buy Trident Z RAM (Samsung b die) which is better for $99.

It's not a bad deal, just a very standard price. RAM is cheap again, might as well spend a few more dollars and get Trident Z.

This is really not recommended, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. they'll just work @ the slowest timings.
