What’s the difference between new and old?

How does this compare to the fellow stag ekg?

Thanks

I've emailed Cosori about the difference, they still haven't answered yet.
The good thing I guest is that today the $10 apply on the new model as well, it wasn't the case over the last week...

EKG is probably better but 2 or 3 times better... nah!
Best kettle for the price. 5,000+ ratings and still 5 stars... can't go wrong...

They'll heat water, they'll pour a thin steady stream. Ultimately almost every other input in your coffee making (bean quality, grinder, pouring technique) will make a bigger difference in making your coffee taste better. Since we're compare it to something 2x as much. What really matters between this and the Stagg EKG is purely your personal preference for aesthetics, price, and feel.

The kettle stops improving coffee quality once it can hold a desired temperature accurately, and have relatively good pouring dynamics. Anything after that is just personal choice. A barista pouring out of the same $40 gooseneck for years will likely make you a similar cup if they suddenly poured you a cup from a Stagg EKG. However, if you got better beans, or a better grinder, or a better barista. You'll likely notice a better cup of coffee than you would with the kettles.

TL:DR Skills > Kettles, Stagg EKG $$$$ > Cosori $$

Sadly it isn't the new verson with the app, (the 3th button would be a Bluetooth sign) that model is presently sold (not by amazon) at outrageous prices...

Can you link almost any deal that wasn't' made in China? This isn't a good thing. I certainly don't want to drink from something made in China, nor eat anything made there. Recently returned fish that turned out of have came from China (was in tiny print). And this doesn't even touch on the political factors. Next week I plan to go to the thrift stores and look for an old kettle, pref. made in Canada or the US.

Finally received an answer from Cosori about the new and old model... :)

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us.
For the kettles, we see that you may be referencing the CS108-NK as well as the link being the CO108-NK.
The main difference will be the smart phone capabilities that the CS model has the the CO does not.
The presets tend to be the same and all of the manual buttons on the CS108-NK will also be on the CO version.
We hope that this helps and that you have a great rest of your day.

Best regards,

Elijah

See above looks like you might be right... still it's the same picture for both model on amazon where they are different on the Cosori website... if that's really the case an even better deal...

.8L is small, even for this type of kettle. It's a shame, our old kettle broke yesterday and I was about to jump all over this.
