[Amazon Canada] Crucial BX500 480GB Internal SSD for $79.99

It's the best price I've seen on this particular model. I was waiting for a MX500 or 860EVO to hit $80 level, but this is really tempting even though I'm not in a rush and can wait until BF.

I'd hold out for BF. I don't know if the EVO will get down to this price, but I bet it'll be mighty close.

Looks like the 120gb version went down to $27.99 too which is the lowest I've seen.

Personally I think these prices will be here to stay. At least for SATA Drives of this tier

M.2 NVMe is where the premium is at as well as drives over 1TB

I don't think BF will be much better prices. Maybe a bit lower or same but more variety in brands. Probably a few crazy door crashers but limited supply.

With the way pricing is going, these are pretty damn good.

Personally I'll try this. If BF has hot deals, I have time to return.

These prices are going down like shit. I purchased 500GB SSD for $175 a year ago and now it is 1/2 the price. I will wait for BF.

Really hoping to see similar pricing on an external SSD soon. I know I can throw this in a case and make my own, but I really want one of those small ones.

the price of ALL MICRON own products WILL continue to FALLLLLLL.
WHY?
IP theft!
Micron infringed Chinese IP patents ,; many Micron or Crucial products are forbidden to be sold in world's largest market___China.

many or all western media accuse China of IP thefts BUT the TRUTHS is many western companies infringed on
Chinese patents.

What.....HUH?

what the media does not always report is that: China is the second largest NEW patents holder in the world.( #1 is USA )

What many people do not know also, is that many businesses in N.A. (at other countries / continents) are partially owned by Chinese enterprises.

Can you link that? Because I can only find news stories about how the Chinese stole Micron tech earlier this year.

Edit: Ok, found it. You mean the revenge lawsuit filed, right? By the Chinese companies who were actually caught stealing?

It's not just Micron. SSD prices are in a free fall and we don't even know what rock bottom is yet.

Just a few days ago there was Samsung 860 EVO 1TB available for $122 in Amazon Warehouse Deals US. It's currently sitting at $130. Most of the "used" drives probably have minimal hours powered on, 100% health and < 1TB lifetime writes total.

The market's gonna be a free for all zoo in 3 weeks' time.
