[Amazon Canada] Crucial MX500 1Tb 2.5” SATA SSD $159.99

Back down to the sale price it was about Xmas / boxing week. Good deal for anyone building a system now or wanting to upgrade and missed the other deals.

Prices still may go down in 2019 though if you can wait.

Edit: don’t forget 8% Ebates!
Edit 2: added SATA 2.5” to title.

Thanks. Although prices may be going down more, I could use the space now.

Yes!! This is exactly who this deal is for. Best current historical price for those who need / want it now.

As always with electronics, the longer you wait, the more the price should go down. But that argument can go on for infinity with you never buying anything.... (which may be a good thing for some of us RFDers, haha)

Not really. Price of electronics dips low and then stabilizes and either goes down very slowly or stays there. I mean unless you wait 50 years when hard drives will be like compact disks, they stay'll in a certain price range. Like stack of CDs or DVDs is still same price it was few years ago and it won't really go down much. Considering HDDs are limited by it's size (3.5 form factor), they can only fit so much data in them, untill SSDs surpass that, and they already have. RAMs is another example. But you don't wait to buy a storage when buying it isn't useful anymore.

It seems like we almost agree here. Your saying the price dips low then either stays the same or goes lower. Close enough. But product cycles do keep the prices going up and down. And yes my statement was general enough that I’m sure there is counter examples.

I do like the trend on triple camels for the SSD though!

I decided to buy the Amazon warehouse used one - very good condition option $148.79
there was used one with good condition for $143.99 , but I choose the other instead

anyways just got it. Cosmetic condition is like new. no dents or scratches.
The power on time was 1 day and 2 hours. (So wasn't used for that long)

100 % health and no SMART errors

So not bad Amazon Warehouse deal

also for 8% ebates

Thanks for posting. I'm glad you got an almost brand new one. Since it's a Crucial MX500 1TB it should last at least 10 years with normal usage.
