How does this compare with the Samsung Line or WD SN750/850/850X Series?

Crucial P3 is QLC and DRAM-less.

My understanding is that 850X is top tier (and obviously more expensive). This is QLC and slower spec-wise, but much cheaper.

Not really true. Sony has that in the specs but I've been running a SN750 SE in my PS5 for over a year. In PC it benched around 3400Mbps but PS5 shows 5800. I think basically any gen4 drive works in PS5 even if it is slower than 5500. I can't say this one will or will not work but it might. The Adata Legend 840 is popular for PS5 and rated 5000Mbps.
That's 30 minutes away, I'll be there in 10.

Better deal and performance than the Western Digital 4TB SATA III that was $309 last week.

Pci Gen 3 3000MB read verses SATA III 500MB read.

Great if you have a m.2 slot or can get a PCie 3 expansion card.

Just a heads up: This drive has no DRAM, so you'd just want to use it for storage, not a boot/application drive
