Seems the Samsung T7, Sabrent Rocket Nano, Crucial X8 and HP S700 1TB size perform comparatively and typically can be had around $180-200 free shipping.

How does this compare to a SATA 3 SSD with a USB 3.2 enclosure?

This finally arrived on Sunday after 2 days! Seems faster than any of the other SATA based SSDs my dad has at home. Those SATA SSDs were only getting 30-38MB/s for copying video files. This one gets around 400MB/s.

SATA will be capped at about 560MB/s. I have the 500GB X8 (picked up for $80 something from warehouse deals) and on a 3.2 gen 2 port it runs at a little over 1000MB/s read. Write is similar with smallish files that don't go over it's SLC buffer. Be sure to use a proper cable! My original OnePlus cable maxed out at 50 or 60 MB/s.
