Just keep in mind, this version is the "Made in China" version, whereas almost all other Cuckoo versions are "Made in Korea". If that matters to you.

Most people here already have an instant pot so why not use that instead? I use 1:0.9 jasmine rice to water and been getting consistently good results. The instant pot has more cooking functions as well.

I'm pretty sure if someone called me by this brand name, it would be a country music bar fight.

Sizable discount, we need input from the RFD rice cooking people.

Better consistency especially with smaller batches - I used an instant pot for years and it wouldn't cook small amounts evenly. Smaller footprint on counter, different settings for other types of rice, non stick easy to clean pot.

Also the cute chimes.

No... Just no... don't compare an Instant Pot to an actual rice cooker, you insult my ancestors!

I cook 1.5cups of rice everyday on a 6qt instant pot ultra and it's perfect al dente rice everytime.

Once you realize an instant pot is indeed just a glorified rice cooker. Smiling Face With Open Mouth And Cold Sweat

I assume you’re not Asian, so yeah, just use your instant pot as non-Asians won’t understand the difference between cooking rice in a good rice cooker vs regular pot or even instant pot. Lol.

It is NOT that expensive. I've paid for mine total of $390 in 2021. Of course, factoring in corporate greed and "inflation" it won't be that price but still.

At that price, it's a premium cooker. Of course there are more expensive cookers but beyond this, it's diminishing return. $300 - $400 is the most you should pay for great rice cooker.

Between OP's post and premium cooker, difference is that cheaper cookers cook the rice by heating as if you were cooking on stove whereas for premium, it's cooked by pressure rather than just heat.

I need a rice cooker, and you guys are just cracking jokes...

I missed the cuckoo at Costco last week for 99, and I'm not sure if I should get this made in China cuckoo, or spend more on the zoji.
