This seems big for 2-3 people. Any recommendations for a smaller version? The 8 cup cuisinart doesn't look as sturdy.

Great deal OP.

If you buy a smaller one, you will regret it. This is not "too big" for anyone, IMO.

No counter space, so guarantee that I'd regret it if I purchase this.

I have this, it is awesome. Powerful. Still going strong after 10 years, need a new bowl though-do not put it in a dishwasher.

Love mine. Best one, according to a few different review sites (e.g., America's Test Kitchen)

I bought this in Dec 2018 for 169.99 from Amazon. I know, no time machine - reference only.

Love it, and echo the comments that this is a case where bigger = better (that’s what she said).

That being said - inflation - and with everyone cooking/baking away - home gadgets are popular.

I bought this in October for $1 more. Very impressed with how solid and strong it is. Definitely a huge upgrade from the Oster it replaced. Only issue is that Cuisinart doesn't appear to be making the accessories anymore so if you want any of extra blades beyond the two it comes with you are most likely looking for them used on Ebay. I wanted to get the french fry blade!

Would this thing be able to shred cabbage?

Right now we use a mandolin and those blades are just too dangerous.

Btw, if you have an older model, check and make sure the blade you have isn't recalled, if it has rivets, you can order an new one for free.
I found one at a thrift store for like $5 awhile back, it was an original classic DLC-10 from a decade or two in excellent condition, made in the USA and got a brand new blade from Cuisinart hehe

This is the same model used by Babish so it can't be bad.

Don’t know about the Cuisinart but the best food processor we’ve had was Braun ...

Picked one up 10+ years ago from Costco for $40, now I wish I would’ve bought at least 5 ...
I mean it’s still going strong, but look at what new units sell for haha

Yes, shreds cabbage no problem. Its very quick. Takes more time to quarter it to feed through tube.
I also use it to disc potatoes for scalloped potatoes, shredded hashbrowns. Shredds cheeses. Dough, dips, date balls.

I decided to go with the 8 cup (this one is huge). If anyone wants for $270 (what I paid), PM me before I return.
