[Amazon.ca] DEAD - HOT/Price error - $8.39 - Diamond Knife Sharpener Stone, 400&1000 Grit Double Sided

Easier to use than a waterstone, and those grits are perfect for sharpening. The caveats are: smaller than promised at 6" length and not great quality control.

They're also not electroplated diamonds and not mono-crystalline diamonds, unlike the ones used in quality diamond stones. So, the diamond dust will disappear over time.

I bought my knife set from dollar store.

Should I sharpen them or keep buying cheap new knives?

Sharpen them. As long as the knife isn't chipped there is no point in buying a new knife because it's dull.
Even the Dollarama sharpener and a water rinse after will make your cheap knives cut well.

Good price, but the reviews are just bad enough to stop me from pulling the trigger. Thanks anyway, OP.

Treat yourself to some actually good knives. Makes cooking faster and a total joy. You don't realise how atrocious dull and cheap knives are until you use high quality tools. Life's too short to use shitty tools.

Couldn't agree more! I try to hone my knifes every time I begin cutting and it makes such a huge difference (try tomatoes, it'll show you, lol)! I don't have the best knifes in the world, but a decent set from Henckels. Five years and going strong. Hoping it will last me a few decades if not a lifetime. Face With Tears Of Joy

Serrated are a separate species. You need a rod and need to sharpen each groove, then go to the flat side and sharpen that side.
Haven't dulled a serrated knife since I only use it to cut bread.
