[Amazon.ca] Dell U2415 $302.89

They are on for $302.89 at Amazon.ca, shipped and sold by amazon.ca. I like their return policy.

Good for me because I prefer 16:10 and a 24" screen is the largest that will work in my situation.

Bring it down a bit more with Rakuten.

For this price, couldn't you almost get a 27" IPS 4K? Like this LG one at $350 at BB.

Update: that's a refurb one, but that monitor has gone that low for a new one various times during the year. In this day and age, a 1200p IPS monitor shouldn't cost > $300.

bought it from dell before, monitor developed stuck pixel after few weeks use. Thankfully they offer advanced exchange for pixel stuff and my second monitor is good.
Their pixel guarantee program says exchange within 30 days. But there is a hidden thing they don't mention, exchange set up within 21 DAYS of invoice date in order to receive NEW replacement monitor. After that you'll get a refurbished one even it's still within 30 days.

not sure if amazon purchase also qualify for their exchange program, better check to be sure.
I thought RFD was supposed to help me SAVE money .... -__-|

If it's not perfect, sending it back to Amazon for full refund within 30 days. I think it's worth any extra to have a no nonsense return policy. Last time I bought a monitor (various makes) I had to return about 6 of them to various places (Futureshop, Staples, etc.) due to quality issues before I found a good one. So avoiding any place that has restocking fees. That could get expensive if you don't want to accept what some companies call quality control.

Refurb and sold by third party, not by BB.

Boxing day the Rakuten dell-consumer cash back is 12% and dell small business is 6%. Bylo's link is for the business side (For Work) instead of consumer (For Home). Not sure if one could follow the Rakuten 12% consumer link, change to business when you get to Dell and still get the 12% ?

Thanks for the clairification. It's worth a shot if someone is about to pull the trigger.

(I'm not because I've had a U2415 for almost 3 years now. It's a great monitor that's well worth the money. And one of few remaining 1900x1200 res models still on the market.)

Seem to recall getting it for quite a bit less than that from Dell a couple years ago.

You think that's bad you should see what a new car goes for compared to what I paid for mine years ago!

Isn’t this a 5 year old monitor at this point? Or at least the design. U2415, 24” 2015
Hello I.T.
Have you tried turning it off and on again?

It's probably even older than that, i.e. the U241x series in general. That's actually a testament to the quality, value and durability of these U-series monitors.

For what it's worth, I bought the predecessor of the U241x, a 2001FP (1600x1200 4:3 IPS) monitor, about 15 years ago. It cost ~$1,500 (in 200x dollars!) if you think $300 is a lot. That monitor has been in daily use ever since and is still being used by my wife today. Imagine that with some el cheapo HP, Acer or Benq monitor. You get what you pay for.

That said, an HD monitor may be a bit dated today. If I was buying a new monitor today I'd probably get a QHD 2560 x 1440 version of Dell U-series like the U2518D.

Can't agree more. If I don't already own 2 241x monitors I'd pull the trigger with no doubt. I've used them for 5+ years daily without any issue. While the crappy Samsung 19" in my office flickers after 6 month of use. Older premium monitors are way better in quality and color reproduction that current ones.

this is a great monitor for its time and still a good monitor for general use. Loved 16:10 ratio, especially for previewing 16:9 content since you always have the scrollbar below the content when full screen.

I dunno if I'd want to pay $300 now, because I would opt for one of the 1440p 27" screens now. I still have 2 of them but moved onto to a UW 34"
RFD is not just for cheapskates. Those who want their expensive toys don't want to pay full price either.
