Price appears to now be $17.39 in the list of 25 new buying options. Came out just under $20 for me with free shipping. Picked one up for my 10 year old son who's been talking about D&D for a while with his friends but has never played.

Now 27.27, 17.39 still available as you said.

Use to play with my buds in the back corner of the library. Gave the security guard fits! Good times...

Might be a dead deal but +1 op for introducing me to the essentials kit.

I bought the starter a few years ago and my son wasn't interested at that time. gave it to a family friend who started a d&D club in high school.

Recently bought the D&D board game (adventure begins) which was greatly enjoyed by my 12 year old and spouse.

will pick up this one as cooperative story telling is awesome

I started with the red box set:

Currently playing in a couple of campaigns; Pathfinder 2e and Starfinder.

I haven't DM/GM for a couple of years. Disappointed But Relieved Face Not enough free time.

Just started working at a gaming company owner by WotC and I learned to play D&D 2 days ago. I'll try to order this from work. Thanks for showing me it exists.

Is there even anything in this box? I remember getting a starter Red box from 4th.ed once, and it had color cardboard enemy and player tokens, skill cards, maps with grid, etc...
