I guess one of the Amazon devices which has not really been a success like others have been.

I ordered but I am wondering if it would act like a Bluetooth receiver so I can play YouTube music through it.

I use mine to stream Spotify in my car so I'd assume this is no different.

True, returned mine as it requires my phone as a network bridge and I rarely use data in my vehicle except as a GPS, or have a need to call out smart devices at home like in the ad video, most of our plugs/lights/etc are already on schedules, our doors are on geofence and unlock when we are near home. I gave it a shot but knew before the month was up I wasn't using it enough, ymmv. Otherwise we really enjoy our home Echo devices and use those all the time.

If you don't intend to use Alexa and only YouTube music, would a regular bluetooth speaker do the job such as the anker soundcore priced at same price as this echo auto?

It's really just an overpriced Echo dot with no speakers

I think he means to use it in cars that don't have Bluetooth. Connect to this, use aux cable to connect to the car.

Amazon should drop this product and integrate Amazon music through Siri.

I love my auto echo, use it daily, paid $25 when it first came out.

I purchased this for 24.99 back in Oct. 2020 for my 2005 car and it was a fantastic purchase. My car had no bluetooth audio capability, so I plugged it in using the Cassette Adapter, and now I prefer it over my wife's fancy car with Android Auto and the works.
Everything is seemless, Spotify works great, and phone calls are very easy to take.

I had one in my old 2010 fusion and it worked fine with it.

Have since upgraded to a vehicle with carplay and have not bothered to put it back in.

It seems useful, but there's no elegant way to put away the wires, unless you have someone hard wire it.
