I bought one of these last year when they dropped down for $15 and have been using it hooked into an old iPod docking station. Works exactly as you'd expect any other Echo to work, and if you have a decent sound system to plug it in to it's a great way to make a "smart" sound system. $20 is probably the best we'll see it drop to for a while. Yeah the code didn’t work for me either, but after chatting with a rep, a $5 credit was applied. I assumed it was just a bug on my end but I guess not. Chat with a rep and get the credit.

Can also be used as a Bluetooth receiver (Bluetooth from a phone or tablet or computer to non-wireless speakers).

Devices need to be paired using Alexa app, but after that, they can connect and disconnect as needed easily.
