Energizer better than Kirkland? $14/pk through Costco website, likely cheaper in store

How long can these batteries stay without losing charge? I need them for a remote every once in a while but I don't want to get 48 if they'll die before I get a chance to use them.

If you read the Costco reviews, there are an abnormal number of people reporting leaking batteries. I can confirm with three out of twelve leaking from the Costco 48 pack I bought last January.

The Energizers claim theirs have leak resistant construction.

Agreed had couple of my wall clocks spoiled due to leaking costco batteries... never had the problem with enerqizer or duracell....

Ugh this is so bad for the environment. Six charges of an 8 pack of rechargables is all you need to beat out this deal.

Rating is 4.6 from Amazon.ca and 4.5 from Amazon.com, so should be good.
Not sure if it is right, but I am keeping them in the fridge.

Thanks for the response. I've never had alkaline that didn't leak, that's when I use rechargeables personally. I'll continue with the cheap ones then if performance isn't an issue.

They expire in 10 years from date of manufacture.

Costco's batteries are made by Duracell. I personally have never had a problem with them. It might have been a bad batch, I'm sure all battery manufactures experience this.

Are these better than the amazonbasic? The Amazon are cheaper.

I would say yes, I have ordered Amazon basic batteries twice before and had both leak. This is a great deal, cheaper that Costco bulk, never go on sale
