**Update**
Got mine today (July 14) and roast date was June 22. Not extremely fresh but less than a month old.

Not for everyone but I can attest to the quality of Pilot Roasters coffee.

This is a decent deal for 340g. Regular price is about $17

Any testimonials regarding roast date for Pilot coffees on Amazon?
I've ordered from them directly before and it was fine.

I've heard horror stories from Phil & Sebastians on Amazon

This is a better deal. The Heritage costs $18.50 at regular price on the Pilot website. At 20% off it's $14.80 which is more expensive than the Amazon deal without factoring in tax or shipping.

An FYI, I got the heritage fathers day gift this past june (2 bags of heritage and a cheap v60) from amex. I was dissappinted to see no roast date and a best before date of November 18, 2021 on it. I imagine this will be similar . Also if you check the other blend that's on sale in Amazon, reviewers say the same thing that there's a best before date but no roast date.

Was wondering the same, I guess for $13 I can roll the dice and risk ending up with good but not great coffee.

Coffee is generally good in bag for 6 to 9 months. Best in the first month, but still great for a month after that. My local Q grader, for example, immediately marks beans over 60 days old at 50% off. With a November best before date you might be in a good window there. For a V60, no matter how cheap, you'll be able to taste the difference between a fresher roast and an older roast.

I generally am not too fussy when it comes to coffee. I much prefer fresh beans from local roasters, but if I got a bag of almost expired beans for Christmas I would still drink it, it's just not as good. Hell, I drink 90% of my poorly drawn shots, and they taste like ass.

I agree with you here. I would buy months old coffee at a significant discount but would pass on anything less than 25% off.

Updated in top post as well.

I put my order in on July 13th and received my 2 bags on July 14th. Roast date was indicated as June 22 so just over 3 weeks. This was better than I expected for coffee from Amazon and would do it again at this price.
