[Amazon.ca] Eufy wired door bell - $160

For the people who got their geeki staples door bell order cancelled, this is another good alternative for a bit more price but does offer local storage and 2k video and Anker products come with a great warranty if you run into any issues

Been wanting to switch from our nest for something with free storage. Gonna get this to swap when our nest subscription ends

Just a heads up as the video is for the Wireless Doorbell and the promo is for the wired one. So the storage is not in the same place (microSD vs. pod inside the house)

I'm really interest by the Eufycam products but the recent big bug they had made me realize I dont' want to use these products until it's fully usable without cloud access (AI does not work if offline). I recon that it's not a big issue for a doorbell though.

Perfect.

Is this the lowest price? I am in market for a doorbell, and have been looking at non-paid options.

My ring pro is starting to malfunction like crazy. Might look into something else.

I have this and it works great.

Wired one records constantly so once it detects motion it creates a clip using 3 seconds BEFORE they appear on screen + however many seconds afterwards. This shows them walking up to your house instead of just appearing already on screen.
To install the wired one I never bypassed anything on my door chime (at my friends I wired the doorbell to the original button in parallel so they could maintain both functions and it worked fine)

Wireless doesn't have that function but has larger storage, the constant recording must drain too much battery.

The app is nice too and person detection works really well. It gives you a notification with a thumbnail of the persons face.

edit: Also like to note I bought it back in May for 139.99

Interesting. 3CCC says $159.99 is the all-time low.

Thought I'd chip in with my experience with this.

I just installed this at my parents house. I did need to upgrade the transformer (not hard, but an additional cost and effort). It works really well, and I was really impressed with it. Compared to my Ring Pro, and the Skybell HD (which i had previously) - the Eufy is quicker to notify, and seems to have less delay when talking to people.

The app isn't as nice as the Ring (or even Skybell), but it's functional, and once you use it for a bit, I'm sure you'll get used to it. My 70 yr old parents were able to figure it out, so i don't think it's too much of a concern.

If I didn't have the RingPro, and wasn't already paying for the Ring Alarm - I'd probably go with the Eufy.

hope this helps.

My bad. Okay that makes OP's deal even better.

I'm happy with the 1080
2k is a pleasant surprise.

So why wouldn't one get a wyze doorbell for 60 bucks , aside from the no local storage.

The wyze is 1080 and no local storage but in general it's been fine for a lot of people for that price point.

The main selling point here is that you dont need a subscription to record videos.

Seems like the Wyze required $2 minimum subscription to save the videos for 14 days.

"Optional Upgrade Available: Upgrade to Cam Plus for $1.99/month to receive real-time alerts when people are detected and store full-length videos in the cloud for 14 days."

I've had the Skybell and absolutely hate using it - delays when loading video or when having a 2-way conversation. Ordered this eufy and looking forward to the upgrade, great find OP.

oh the FAQ for the wired 2k door bell, it says
Can the video doorbell record 24x7?
No, the doorbell doesn’t support 24x7 recording for now. The 3s pre-buffer let you see the whole picture prior to the initial alert.
so does it record constantly or no?

Got one. Had to bust out my multimeter to check the voltage on my doorbell transformer. 21.5 VAC.
