Wow that's an even better deal. I picked up the 850 version of this a few weeks ago for $99 but this was on my ccc tracker and I just received the update and figured someone would be able to cash in on it.feeling_funky wrote: ↑ it's also on Sale at Canada computers for 79.99.. and and extra $20 off if you use the MIR (total 59.99)

I don't have a decibel meter, but its seems to run either max speed or off. Since the rest of my build is below 30db at load, the fan on the PSU is fairly obvious. The part that pisses me off is that it sometimes turns on even at idle...when CPU draws like 5W.

Do you reckon the noise to be quiet enough and acceptable with the eco mode off and having the fan spin at low rpms and increase according to load temperatures?

Hey off topic but since you have a quiet build what’s the best after market cooler you would recommend for under $50?

In my case no, the fan makes a noticeable hissing noise since my PC sits like a foot away from my face on my desk. I returned this PSU for a Corsair RMx series. But maybe your fans are louder than mine, YMMV

Under $50 I use to just use my Asus motherboard to force the EVO 212 to run the fan at ~600rpm, it works fine for a 6700K OC 4.5Ghz undervolted 1.12v. I'd spend the money on a quality Noctua D15 though as that is silent under basically all loads
