Here a tutorial to install the Mouse Toggle app and how to use it on a fire tv stick:

After installation, go to Home page. Select Settings on the top row.
Select My Fire TV.
Select Developer Options.
Turn on ADB Debugging.

That is all. Enjoy.

Semi-interested in one of these, but even at the added cost I'm thinking of holding out for the next time the Shield goes on sale (sub 200 for the one with a remote/no gamepad). I already have one and love it, whereas this seems to be somewhat lacking (but cheaper).
shield doesn't support dolby vision for netflix. emby and plex apps should be available but I wouldn't pay for those. Use jellyfin its free opensource they don't charge for premium features.

I do the old school laptop to tv via HDMI and it’s getting to be annoying.
Anyone? Tried looking it up online and didn't get any conclusive answers.

Contact Amazon support + Maybe mention (here and to Amazon) what exactly you are doing, what errors you might be seeing, etc.

Plex is available on the Amazon App Store. Kodi needs to be sideloaded but that is extremely easy.
I've some of the variations of the YouTube app and the native one is better, I'd stick with it.

NordVPN. Obviously, YMMV. ExpressVPN is a more expensive option and has better performance from what I hear. NordVPN has drawbacks (lower speed about 70-80% of actual speed, this is the only one I have faced) which I'm comfortable with since it's pretty cheap.

Is the chipset faster on the 4K vs non-4K box. Looking at adding this to a non-smart tv for apps and want the faster version (if there is a difference)

Just get 4K version. Better remote with Alexa. And 4K if u ever need it. I’m using it on a 1080p tv Still great for iptv

No wonder it’s cheap. Only 5gb memory so I can’t install much apps

Have you enabled Apps from Unknown Sources?

This is the link I used to jailbreak my 4K FireStick and the Downloader app worked. I followed the Screenshot Guide which is past the Video Tutorial further down:

With a micro USB cable splitter to regular USB, you should be able to install a USB flash drive with extra storage. Here’s one I found on amazon:
AuviPal 2-in-1 Multifunction USB Cable (Power Cable + OTG Cable) - 2 Pack
