Don't bother waiting for YouTube to come back.
Just install Smart YouTube TV https://smartyoutubetv.github.io/ (Stable release apk) and be done.

FYI. My last 4k stick got stuck in a boot loop for no good reason, a common issue requiring a replacement as per my understanding. I returned it instead of replacing it.

Mine was in a boot loop too but I think I had too many things plugged into the same outlet it worked fine after I unplugged some things. Overall I’m really enjoying using the firestick 4k for Netflix and Kodi

Didn't work for me sadly.toronto2007 wrote: ↑

A few days, lots of effort, relatively speaking, into setting up the apps I wanted. When it conked off, I decided not to go through the headache of ideal personal setup again.
And yes, it does have a 1-year warranty. If you could create a backup (I'm not sure you can) then I'd stick with it.
IIRC, the last thread about the firestick had some people getting the bootloop issue.

Went from Perfect Player to TiviMate on it for IPTV... damn it's almost as fast as on my ShieldTV, especially with the latest update.
For those who want USB ports added (for LAN adapter + USB Drives), you can connect a USB hub as INPUT to the FireTV as follows:
1. Get a USB hub that allows an external power source (eg: https://www.canadacomputers.com/product ... _id=118780).
(Note, that micro USB port in this picture is where you plug a micro usb cable into a wall jack to power the USB port: http://www.orico.cc/uploads/uk/product/ ... des-01.jpg).
2. Get a USB micro cable (to plug into that port in step1) and plug it into a wall using a standard USB power adapter. (eg. https://www.canadacomputers.com/product ... _id=029464)
3. Get a USB (Female) to Micro USB (Male) adapter/cable. Plug the FEMALE cable from the USB hub (that normally plugs into a computer) into the adapter. The MALE end goes into the FireTV.
***You now have a USB hub connected to your FireTV that will also power it.****
4, Plug a USB 3.0 LAN adapter into the hub (The one for the Nintendo Switch works fine). You now have a LAN connection instead of relying on WIFI. Much faster speeds for IPTV.
5. Sideload apps using a regular USB stick into the hub.
Done.... you now have a Firestick that's on fire.... USB hub, LAN adapter, and ability to sideload via USB sticks. now go grab TiviMate and be happy.

You use the one female micro port to take in power from the Firestick's power supply.
Also, since the port on the Firestick is micro-USB I'm guessing it's gonna be USB2 so anything USB3 won't be fully utilized.

The FireStick runs a customized version of Android, so most Android apps will work, except those that require Google Services due to a dispute Amazon had with Google. For apps that cannot be navigated with the remote, install MouseToggle to get a pointer in order to click on selections.
Tip: If you have a favourite app on your phone/tablet that you want to sideload onto the FireStick, install Apps2Fire from the Google PlayStore onto the phone/tablet and use it to push the app installed onto the FireStick. Super easy to do....just be patient when it first pushes the app, as Apps2Fire has to issue a number of "adb" commands to the Firestick before installation can take place. After that it goes pretty fast for any subsequent apps you want to install.
Some apps are already available on the Amazon AppStore, like ES Explorer. Check there first as those apps are optimized for the Firestick.

Got the 4k Fire TV last time it was on sale and I got to say it's my favorite streamer. It is better then my apple tv 4k and Nvidia Shield. Don't forget to install titanium tv if you want on demand tv shows and movies. It's relatively easy to install. Here is a link if anyone wants instructions on how to load it on to your fire tv.

Is there a place I can see the list of IPTVs available and perhaps their reviews too? If nothing else, a discussion on a forum by day-2-day users?justinwu86 wrote: ↑ Everyone do yourself a favor. If this is true I will be quite impressed. I have an Apple TV 4K and Nvidia shield at home. But I just order this fire stick since it will be perfect for traveling/work. So if it's that good that's awesome!slater22 wrote: ↑ Got the 4k Fire TV last time it was on sale and I got to say it's my favorite streamer. It is better then my apple tv 4k and Nvidia Shield.
