[Amazon.ca] Fitness Reality 2000 Super Max XL Weight Bench - $239

Great price for a great bench. Very sturdy bench, and being 6’3” it’s got a nice high back when at a 90 degree incline. Not too far off from its ATL price on Black Friday which was just shy of $210.

Also same price at Walmart: https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/fitness-re ... 0199233945

Good deal for a serious lifter, esp if going for PRs. Just a point though is that since the back is high, it could be challenging to do declined over head workouts like skull crushers. Just something to consider.

I would have coped if I didn’t already have a solid bench lol.

was thinking the same, but ended up ordering the Fitness REality 2000 despite the bowflex on sale clearance for 249.97. Its just way better all round.

Well that's why I put a ? I left it open ended for input.

I saw the bowflex in store and the build quality looks and feels good. Fitness Reality generally manufacturers things at a lower/more affordable price point so the quality may be lacking. I don't have experience with this particular model hence why I asked.

Bowflex is 600 lbs load capacity and 6 backrest positions

OP's Fitness Reality is 850 lbs load capacity and 7 backrest positions.

I see. I asked because you said "Isn't the bowflex on sale @ costco better value?" instead of "Is the bowflex on sale @ costco better value?"

I wouldn't look to much into max weight capacity, you have to measure weight distribution, in their photo on a flat bench it has 850lbs rating, its angle selector leg sits about 40% of bench length, so from that point forward its 340lbs; so you would have to figure the weight of your thorax, arms and head plus whatever weight your lifting and try to stay somewhere in the 340lbs range just to be safe.

But what I just said is broscience, take for what you will.

Its a decent bench, if you're a 200lbs plus juice monkey I would look elsewhere.

I have this bench. Works well for holding storage boxes with dumbbells on the floor next to it.

Goes well with my elliptical clothing holder.

The Costco bench is better quality. Personally I couldn't use it as it's too wide for certain exercises.

I got the OP's bench 2 years ago and I like it a lot.

Considered both before, but at least this has no gap feature.
"Patent pending seat design eliminates the gap between the backrest and seat"

Open question: Would this one be an ok deal (7 positions, but only 550 lbs)?
I like the option of Preacher Curl Bench.

Its crap; you would never be able to do two arm preacher curls on it, 12" width on pad, no where to start/rest weight. For single arm curls maybe just passable, but comfort/body position looks questionable.

I would say no. This review describes the main issue I have with the bowflex. The seat support is very weak by comparison - he compares it to other options including the fitness reality 2000. This sealed the deal for me.
