A Place to Stand
I bought a bunch of the same large jugs of the buffalo sauce from Costco when they went on clearance a few years ago. I don't use it daily, but I would often BBQ chicken and toss it in the sauce and it was incredible. So even though I use it infrequently, I use a lot of it when I use it. The problem was it goes off. I ended up throwing out 2 half jugs as it just went off and tasted gross. Granted I did not store them in the fridge, but over time it just starts to go putrid, and the taste profile changes entirely. It starts to take on a muted brownish hue and tastes like rancid vinegar. So my advice would be to store it in the fridge (although I have no idea if this would work any better), and use it as soon as possible. Keep in mind it was probably pushing 2 years old by the time I had to dump it, so you've got some time. Having said that, I think I'm in for a jug even though I just bought a half dozen small bottles recently.

I wouldn't buy so much because it's on sale. It'll go bad. Every time I buy the small bottles, they go off before I use them. Because I reach for the good hot sauces every time.

Amazon is recommending Secret Aardvark. It is pretty good and not unbearably hot for most. You can probably find it for $5-6 at your local ethnic shops. Persia Foods, if you are in gvr. Walmart also has a few good sauces.

Do not buy these if you're not addicted to Frank's.

This. Sriracha is unbeatable in hot sauce game. The history behind the founder is also interesting.

Since it's mostly vinegar, salt, water, etc., doesn't necessarily need to be, but I've found that the taste changes after prolonged periods outside the fridge

Not going to lie, "I put that $#!t on Everything" applies to me Smiling Face With Open Mouth And Smiling Eyes

Thanks for the heads up OP
Plus is you do wings at home and make your own buffalo sauce, you can use a cup (~250ml) at a time.

What? You never have parties, and fry 20000 wings?

Perfect timing. I just stocked up on ~30+ pounds of wings from the loblaws sale.

I usually buy these jugs in the states when I go, but this is an even better deal.

thx op.

My brother once bought a bottle of of some hot sauce from Barbados, it's literally called One Drop, he warned me like crazy and even I didn't believe him with my hot sensitive mouth. Just a meat dip later and I was dying dead on the floor. I have PTSD from that.

To me, horror movies and hot hot sauces are the same thing, if they're too strong/too spicy, they are distracting and take away from the main substance and flavor
haha, fair enough, how are you're bowel movements doing since?

Taste is subjective, saving 50% is fact.

Also yes Murkdx, the last price drop hit $15.
You win this round autorf. Touche.
