[Amazon Canada] Fujifilm XF200mm F2 R LM OIS WR - $6,116.31

Too funny, price dropped again in the last couple hours.

Lowest price ever. $1432.69 $1555.90 $1683.68 off the regular price for this newly released lens.

If i could somehow hide this from the wife I'd get it. Kinda doesn't blend in with my other lenses though.

When I first saw it there were 2 left, now only one. Somebody spent some cash today.

I'm gonna upvote this even though I'll never, ever own a lens like this. I think I'll stick to my lowly XC 50-230 until I win the lotto Grinning Face With Smiling Eyes

Something tells me you're going to get a bunch of downvotes anyway, just because people will see the price and not understand how much of a beast this thing is.

Same, upvoted, I'll never own this as I shoot Canon, and I'll never own Canon's 200mm f/2 either $$$.

But I can tell you that's Lisa Holloway's secret, this focal length lens and Photoshop, I've watched her Ph classes, all in camera lighting.

No doubt your phone will be better as long as it's not an iPhone. Winking Face

Thanks for the upvote. My 50-140mm + 1.4 tc combo has been working pretty good for me. But as I'm mostly taking pics of my kids Hockey and Figure Skating, the 200mm f2 should be a big improvement. Of course if I bought it I could not longer put them in Hockey and Figure Skating which defeats the intended purpose. No lottery win over the weekend no new lens. Disappointed But Relieved Face

I'll entertain what is probably rhetorical. It's a pro photographer's lens for paid work, distance shots, super creamy bokeh, sometimes at night. Not possible on any phone.

Not to mention that this does not include the camera. You'd need to spend another $1800 or so for the camera to go with it.

That Canon is another legendary lens. One of my dream lenses before I switched to Fuji.

Worked with a guy that bought the older EF 200mm f1.8. He loved that lens, told me he wouldn't even leave it to his kids, wanted to be buried with it when he died. His sad story of when it broke.

A sleeper is the 135 f/2, I shouldn't have sold it, that was sort of a budget 200. I could be in a dark gym from afar, not a great shot, showing dimlit distance bokeh:

It was amazing for the kids' hockey and school plays too, fast/sharp, just crop. I do have a 85 1.4 and 70-200 f/2.8II but miss that 135.

Amazing lens and like everyone else said, I'll buy it if I win the lottery. It's one of those dream lenses like the Leica Noctilux.

Realistically, if I manage to save $7,000 (including taxes), which will take a long time, I'll rather get the 16mm F1.4, 23mm F1.4, 35mm F1.4, 56mm F1.4 and/or 90mm F2 which any of them are more useful for my own needs than a 200mm F2. I'll rent it if I ever need it.
