There's also the Vivoactive 4 for $240 and Forerunner 935 for $330.

Personally I'm having a hard time choosing between the 45 and Vivo 4...

All time low on Vivoactive 4 from what I can recall. Very hot!

Vivoactive is the only one to support Spotify offline.

If you run, touch screen bad and physical buttons win every time.

Thanks OP. Ordered Vivoactive 4. Cheaper than buying forerunner 245 music. FYI I have vivoactive 3 for 2 years and always wanted music feature so no need to bring a phone with you when running.

Ordered, thx! Even offered 30$/month so it's a no brainer.

Anyone has experience using it in the context of another sport? I am planing on using it during my hockey games as well.

FYI, it doesn’t have cellular in case you wanted to stream music. But you can load files onto your watch and leave the phone at home.

Garmin sure has some crap ton of watches, eh? I think the Costblo clearance on the Instinct was better but hoarders got to that one instantly...

Will buy a Vivoactive 4 (to replace my 3), once it's $180 or less. I remember buying my 3 @ $280 on a Prime Day and that was considered a deal at the time yet they got so much cheaper, later on.

Once the 5 comes up, I'm sure the 4 will drop in price significantly and that's when it's time to buy IMO.

There will not be a vivoactive 5. Venu I believe is replacing the line all together

I had the Vivoactive HR before and it was a really good watch. If you are coming from the smartphone world (Samsung Galaxy watch for example) but you want a more serious fitness / running watch to track your activities with more detailed analysis, I'd highly recommend the Vivoactive 4. At this price you can't go wrong.

- Personally I never found the touchscreen to be a big problem when I run, but I can see if you swim or when it rains then it can be

- OTOH when you are NOT exercising the touchscreen makes navigating through the menu easier

-The Venu 2 does give the Vivoactive 4 a run for its money. With a nicer looking OLED screen and a battery life that isn't much worse than the transflective screen, I can see many ppl preferring the Venu 2. My wife for example prefers that, and I asked her if she wanted the VA4 but she said she'd wait for Venu 2 to go on sale.
