For those too lazy to investigate, this offer is only for Amazon CASH which requires you to load in person at Canada Post (or some other merchants) via paper cash or bank debit (not credit card.)

Not necessarily, using cash saves bezos from paying credit card fees.
I don’t think homeless people use amazon, and yes poor people have the right to use amazon.

Amazon Cash is worthwhile for a single time to get the $5 credit, beyond that I can't imagine people using it.

Agree. It’s only worth getting 5$ once.

Are there really no other fees?
Handing $20 to a Canada post worker means that $20 shows up in an Amazon balance?

Why would any of the “depositor” businesses continue that relationship longer than the “novelty time”?

does the page indicate if you're qualified?
I think I've done this (or something like this) 2 years back.

Did this at Canada Post yesterday. The $5 doesn't get added to your Amazon cash/giftcard amount. It's a $5 discount applied at checkout on your next order, and expires at the end of September.

It'll cost me $5 in gas and wear on my car just to go to a post office...

I did pay with a Credit Card last time (in a Esso) and got my 5$ without any issues.
