[Amazon.ca] Greenworks 12-Amp Corded 20-Inch Lawn Mower - $179

All-time low for a decent corded electric lawn mower. I've been tracking this for some time now but I went with a Ryobi a couple of months ago one because I couldn't wait for this to go on sale; lawn was getting too wild.

Pair this up with a Costco.ca outdoor extension cord (if it comes back in stock):

Whole bunch of battery powered (40V and 80V) Greenworks mowers and trimmers are available on Amazon with coupons ($100-$200 depending on package). Worth checking out.

Was trying to find something similar/comparable to this thread at Costco but seems to be missing the blower: https://forums.redflagdeals.com/costco-greenworks-pro-21-80v-3-1-push-mower-16-80v-string-grass-trimmer-80v-blower-649-yeg-st-albert-2468425/

Does anyone know who the manufacturer of GW?

I have a corded weed wacker which has served me well albeit too heavy for my liking. I want to invest in a mower.

Greenworks is made by Greenworks!
Sunrise Global Marketing in N.C. is the parent co.
They seem to supply certain other brands (at least in the past), like Cdn Tire's Yardworks and Cub Cadet - based on the batteries being the same.

Never trust Amazon prices, Walmart has 21" 13amp GW lawnmower for $199 regular price.

Unless you have a small and unobstructed lawn, i would strongly against a corded lawnmower, been there and done that, a huge pain i will never look back.

For cordless, 40v might not work well for thick and long grass it will bog down very frequently.

Yup totally agree! Been using a corded mower for the past 5 summers and will finally be replacing it at the end of this season. Couldn’t sell it for much and couldn’t justify replacing it sooner. Not sure if I’ll go gas or battery for my next one…

Do yourself and your neighbours a favor and get a battery powered mower.
I bought a Greenworks 80V last year and there's no way I'm going back to a noisy and smelly gas mower.

All these battery-powered ones seem like they make so much ewaste. A cord doesn't seem like a big downside to me, given that these things seem to last forever.

Great, then benefit from the rechargeable battery and recycle said battery when it's at the end of its life.

My point was moreso that when the batteries become unavailable, the whole thing is useless, versus a corded mower that could be kicking in forty years.

Agreed. For small to medium lots, doesn't make sense to go Gas or limited battery models.

I had blacks&decks(not sure if I spelt the name correctly) corded lawnmower for 15 years and man like my previous post said, it was such a chore that family members would literally fight and argue who get to do the lawn work.

For battery care it was not that bad should you known how to do proper care of it. Most the time it will be stored in cool basement and during winter season, it was kept in the fridge(NOT freezer!) and now it's 7th year of this tiny lawn battery still hold plenty of juice like new.
