How often do you use the current drill? And has it often felt under powered? If you're just doing simple stuff around the home, don't feel the urge to upgrade since it's kind of a waste of money. If you plan on doing some big projects like building a deck etc, then perhaps it could be worth it.

Great for your average home diyer.
Im in construction work and this will last a year at best for what I put drills through.
And it doesn’t have a hammer function

If you plan building a deck you should be looking at an impact driver, not a drill. Just based off my experience, I have quite a few tools from the Dewalt 20v ecosystem and I rarely use my kit drill. 95% of the work gets done with the 887, saw, and the SDS+ drill.

You can just add the hammer function yourself by banging the drill into the nail as you push the button. No big deal.

Should I return the M12 fuel drill i got from HD for this? It's from this thread:
home-depot-149-milwaukee-m12-fuel-free- ... e-2318403/

I hear a lot of praise for the M12 so I am curious if I should swap to this. Not doing any contractor work but would appreciate a solid tool regardless. The M12 does have a hammer option though.

The Atomic one is shorter and lighter. Here's a comparison video of the two.
