The suction cup is EXTREMELY sticky in a non-marking way. It's pretty much like those "gel" sticky pads that you see for sale at Canadian tire. If it ever starts to feel like it's not sticky anymore; you can wash it and it will go back to normal.

Even without using the "locking tab" it sticks extremely well to my windshield. I just bought one myself.

I bought this at regular price and love it. So easy to use. The suction cup is holding on surprisingly well on my textured dash. I use it for my LG G3. There is a fair amount of vibration when the arm is extended because of the plastic arm and weight of the phone but no bug deal. It's really well made and feels solid compared to other phone holders.
