2TB version ($204) is a slightly better deal on a per TB basis and is a new ATL, assuming you want the extra space

Got it in my cart but there's been some better deals on cheaper drives this week. Not sure if this is worth it for the extra $40-60...

Do you mean that 'Crucial' deal? Everyone says that was junk. Is voided it. I've got it in my cart too. Just waiting on more feedback about this WD.

There were others, cheaper. Lexar was $140, and I think team group was $160ish, for 2tb!

On specs yes. In real world usage probably depends on the individual.

970 EVO Plus or SN770? 970 is like 3 dollars cheaper for the 2 TB right now

I would trust WD of Lexar or Team Group, personally.

SN770 is PCIe 4.0 (Gen4) Gaming Drive, faster read/write speeds than 970 EVO Plus.

970 EVO Plus is good boot / OS drive since it has DRAM

Western Digital had better warranty support in Canada.

Samsung warranty service for storage products in Canada is done through the retailer it was purchased from

Has anyone dealt with Samsung Warranty for SSD? ***UPDATED***

Thanks, I'm currently on Gen 3 because my riser cable is PCIE 3.0, but seems like the SN770 would be more future proof anyway

Ha! I was just going to ask how many games on average would this typically store? I've got the Samsung Pro 980 1TB as my operating system drive which is plenty but have another M.2 slot and I'm not sure if I should go 1TB or 2 TB for games...I know this is subjective as it depends on so many factors but just out of curiosity, wondering what most people are getting if its just for gaming.

It would work since it uses PCIE 4.0, but not recommend by Sony since this does not have DRAM and uses a Host Memory Buffer (HMB).

from https://www.playstation.com/en-ca/suppo ... 2-ssd/#faq

Do PS5 consoles support Host Memory Buffer?
No. Some M.2 SSD devices may support Host Memory Buffer (HMB) but they may experience slower-than-expected performance because the PS5 console does not support HMB.
