[Amazon.ca] KEF Q150 Bookshelf Speakers - $298 Lowest Ever

These usually go on sale for $399, but right now they are $298 and free shipping, lowest ever I believe.

Thread Summary
Many people use these for budget home theater, but the matching center Q250C is very expensive ($600).

Most recommended to use a 3rd Q150 as a center. Since they are sold in pairs, you will probably have to split it with someone, but it ends up being $150 with this deal.

Don't be fooled by their sale prices.. It's likely this price at least 80% of the year.. That's what I saw last year when I was looking at prices.

If you go in store, be prepared for an upsell since they're on commission.

No it's not, I have never seen $298 CAD. I have been following these speakers for nearly an year. The lowest I have seen is $398 + some free gift
They are currently $599 USD in USA.

If there's one thing I learned with KEF stuff last year was that their MSRP Prices are marked up year round at least 30%
LSX can be had for <$1000 and the LS50W for <$2000 if you go to their retailers and ask.

These are incredibly well reviewed speakers from a very respected audio company. As far as using with a PC, you need an amplification source as these are passive speakers. You can easily pick up an amp, but expect to pay a few hundred dollars more for a decent one.

Yes, I use my KEF LSX as desktop speakers, and they work well, a big improvement over my A5+ IMO.
As these are not powered you will probably want to pair this with a decent dac/amp.
Something like this might work as it is small, and can double as a headphone amp https://www.amazon.ca/SMSL-AD18-Amplifi ... B071JN7GXN

This is a really great price. If anyone is in the market for speakers, you won't go wrong with these. I have them and love them. If you're buying for home theatre, you should consider buying a second pair and using 1 on its side as a centre channel; the matching centres are very large and much more expensive. Even at $600 for both pair, it's a great price, and it wouldn't be too hard to find someone to buy the extra speaker (it's common for Q150 owners to look for a single to use as a centre).

I do not understand how anyone has voted this deal down. This is an incredible price for these speakers. Thanks OP!
