[Amazon Canada] Kingston 240GB SSD 2.5" --> $39.99

Kingston 240GB A400 SSD 2.5"

Looks like a decent deal, they priced matched @ Canada Computers from last weeks promo I'm guessing

This would also be a good chance to spend some amazon credit received from UGO promo's as well

Ebates also for 1% bonus

Good price for a 240gb!
I must say that at work we had SO MANY issues with Kingston. Drives are dying without notice. We don't order them anymore.

Good price for 240GB. I have this and the performance is not great, but for $40 hard to complain.

What do you mean by performance isn't great?

Guess only when he compares this against the fastest nvme ssds. This Kingston one has great performance in the eyes of 95% of the public (subjective stat)

Well, it scores lower then my 120GB V300 in AS SSD, which are plagued with issues. If others are having success with decent speed - the go for it. I'm just saying what I experience with mine.

No, it's just an older model SSD. It's good for reviving old PC's and laptops, but it's still not a fast drive.
It loses by a large margin to any of the good Sata ones, the 860 Evo, WD Blue, MX 500, etc. Not counting anything nvme.

There's nothing wrong with it, It's still Kingston and probably reliable. The people that buy this likely aren't putting it in a $1500 gaming rig anyway.

Kingston SSD's are reliable. I have two second generation V+200 120GB SSDs with 31 TB read/write total and just hit 10000 operating hours. No problems. These A400s are good for extending the life of older Core 2 Duo and Sandy Bridge laptops.

Coke: What!? This isn't a $2249 Dell Inspiron 6000! It's an entry level $899 laptop! But hey, thanks for the two Nintendo Wii's!
