[Amazon.ca] Kingston Digital 32GB 100 G3 USB 3.0 DataTraveler - $6.99

Found this on Amazon in case if anyone is in need for a USB flash drive. 32gb for $6.99 is a decent addon deal, whereas a 16gb is going for $20.44.

Thanks OP. Just the sort of add-on item I was looking for. You can't have too many USB sticks ;)

People complain so much about the speed, but what exactly is the alternative flash drive? I'd love a fast drive, but if its 3x the price then meh. Like you can get 30-80mbs on a microsd card so is it just better to get that and buy a card reader that can go that fast?

I've bought these before and just bought more. While they're not the fastest, they're perfectly fine for backup, creating Win10/Linux installs, creating Win10 recovery media, archiving data and such.

What it says is:
"Order Online and Pick Up In-Store" (only in stock at a store)
which is not the same as
"Online In Stock" (will ship to you).

FYI, non Add On price is $9.99:
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00C77HMNW/

FYI2, Canada Computers has the 64GB version on special for $9.99. Lots of stock everywhere.

Hi there,

Sometimes if the writing speed and reading speed are so horrible, why bother even be a USB 3.0

1. "The writing speed and reading speed" on these aren't "horrible." They're just not the fastest speeds available. The price is also lower than the fastest drives.
2. The speeds on these are still considerably faster than what the USB 2.x interface can handle.

1. In many applications, e.g. OS installation or recovery media, you need a dedicated drive for every application. IOW 2x 32GB (or even 4x 16GB) is better than 1x 64GB in these situations.
2. This deal can be used as an add-on item. So its value to someone who's buying other stuff from Amazon can be far greater than the price of the drive. For instance, yesterday I wanted to buy ~$30 worth of stuff at amazon.ca. I was looking for an add-on item when I saw this thread. So I bought the drive, went over the $35 threshold and got free shipping. My invoice shows that I "saved" $11.75 in shipping on this order. Essentially I got the drive for free compared to buying only the ~$30 of stuff I needed and paying extra for shipping. Good luck trying that at Canada Computers ;)
