[Amazon.ca] Kingston KC600 SSD 256GB 2.5in SATA $44.99

Just $5 off, but this is a warm price for those looking to revive old systems stuck with SATA without NVMe.

96L TLC, SM2259 controller, and 256MB DRAM. 5 year warranty. Assembled in ROC.

Performance should be similar to Intel 545s. NewMaxx classifies this as a "performance" SSD comparable to Samsung 860, Crucial MX500, and WD Blue 3D.

This is a bare drive with no bracket, cables, or screws.

I have this exact drive in two HTPCs of mine. Runs really fast for 2.5" for the price point. Haven't had any issues with dead drives and deployed about 100 of these at work over the past 1-2 years.

Decent drive for a decent price, warm deal for sure.

Not sure why the downvotes. I guess people are comparing this to DRAM-less drives?…

Abbotsford B.C.
for those in the know; is this a better option than a 256GB flash drive for use on a raspberry pi?
I was thinking the flash would be better for drawing power from the pi (I have a OEM power supply)
This would be better for write/read speeds, which is not a great issue for me

Not a good price?? Bad product? I just bought the A400 240GB model for $40. I'd say this one is a good price. I've bought a few of the Kingston A400 model...

I feel like some people downvote just because they can?

Sorry guys, looks like it's already dead.

Originally, the Amazon.ca page showed a temp. OOS message indicating it would be back in stock on July 25. That's no longer the case.

I guess more people bought this than expected. Smiling Face With Open Mouth And Smiling Eyes
