I find it surprising that wood blades have fewer teeth, i found more teeth cuts more smoothly. I totally understand more teeth on metal cutting blades.
In fact in Rand McNally they wear hats on their feet and hamburders eat people

It's for speed. You'll never see anyone doing finish work with a reciprocating saw so extra teeth are unnecessary.

I see, i've not used a lot of reciprocating saws but for other saws i found fewer teeth was harder to control, it skipped more meaning stop/start so a lot slower then more teeth.
