[Amazon.ca] Kreg SK03 Pocket-Hole Screw Kit in 5 Sizes - $30.99 (almost lowest price)

For those of you that have been picking up those Kreg jigs - here's a pretty good deal on some starter set of screws for it.

One catch - should have Prime to get free delivery - else spend over $35 for free delivery

Its close to the lowest price offered based on Camel.

Enjoy.

Thanks, OP. I ordered it at Amazon.

I purchased this last earlier this year (March) for $39. So, far $9 savings.

Bonus: One correction I made the post - its actually free delivery over $35 - I had originally though this was not the case.

For anyone who just got a pocket jig...this kit isn't actually all that useful unless you make many different things with different wood thickness. I bought this when I first started woodworking and only ended up using 2 of the screw sizes. 3 of the smaller screws I never even touched. Just a little heads up.

Is there a current deal on the jig itself, I've been unable to get a deal on these.

Do you mind sharing which two sizes you used most commonly?

I use alot of (1x 2s, 1 x 3s, 1 x 4s, 1 x 6s) to build my projects. So the the actual thickness is 3/4 of an inch. The pocket screw size is 1 1/4 for that specific thickness. So in the kit, I only used all the 1 1/4 screws (two different threads).

Unless I'm mistaken this kit only has 3 screw sizes.

Technically yes there are only 3 sizes but there are a total 5 different screws. Pretty sure the post above meant they only used 2 out of the 5 included screws (not just size based)

1” for hardwood
1” for softwood
1-1/4” for hardwood
1-1/4” for softwood
2-1/2” for outdoor use

Gotcha! I didn't see that!

Thanks right! I just use the 1-1/4 for hard and soft wood.

I use thousands of 1 1/4" coarse screws. I buy the 1,200 packs. I think I did the math, and for an average cabinet box I think I usually put at least 30 screws in it (granted some of these will be 1 1/4" fine).

I use a bit less of the 1" coarse screws - I will dado and glue/pocket screw a lot of cabinet work so its a strong joint, aligned properly, and no clamps are required.

1 1/4" fine screws I use for face frames and other hardwood applications.

All in all I think in this pack, 1 1/4 coarse screws will be used by far the most. The blue coat ones are useful if you're doing an outdoor project with 2x material. And the fines will probably come in handy with hardwood.

You're probably getting at least one size free, so still probably worth while.

Just as an FYI, as we are talking about cost savings, there are 1,200 packs for like $44. Vs the 500 packs for $28?

So if you're going through lots or have someone to split with, its worth it.

Thanks
I usually pick up a pack when I'm at Altas.

I've seen them other places as well, but can't recall.

Looks like Amazon has them as well, if you don't have anything local:

Edit... pretty sure there is also a 5000 pack... but thats too crazy, even for me.
