RFD impulse buy! Winking Face

Anyone have first hand experience with this?
Some of the reviews are quite negative about the quality of the pieces... decisions, decisions Thinking Face

Was considering it for my younger kids. But 1000 pieces is too much for them...

It's worse than the screen for their eyes if they're playing this in a poorly lit area.

$18 is a great price! I paid ~$30 for this last year.

I agree that the quality of the pieces isn't the best, so you have to be gentle. Upon opening the box, there were a few pieces that were already starting to peel from the backing. Definitely not on par with Ravensburger.

I also got the Minifigure Faces puzzle and it was REALLY hard. While putting it together, I stared at all of the faces and studied each feature so much, I was getting headaches during each build session.

The Minifigures puzzle (not the one that's only faces) is not that hard; you can treat each minifigure as a mini puzzle. It was a nice exercise to do together as a family (me + wife, 12 and 6 year old).
