Thread Summary
redflagdealsguy wrote: Unless you're an uber power user requiring more than 16GB RAM, this is a serious consideration for folks.

There is no competing Ryzen 4500U 2-in-1 in this price range with:
(1) 14" Form Factor
(2) 16GB RAM
(3) 2-in-1 Multitouch
(4) Upgradable SSD
(5) Upgradable WiFi (Recommend: Intel AX200NGW WiFi 6 Card)
(6) Active Pen Included
(7) Rapid Charging 80% in 1 Hour
(8) USB-C with Power Delivery

The one notable downside is USB-C is not DP 1.4 and cannot do video out. The HDMI port is supposedly 1.4 and cannot do 4K60 RGB 4:4:4 required for clear text on a ultra-sized 4K monitor. 4K60 is now possible on 1.4 using Chroma 4:2:0 which looks okay on smaller 4K monitors, but not on large ones.

If you don't care about the above, this is a great overall device for the price.

Note: HDMI 1.4 cannot do 4K60 RGB, but DP 1.4 can do 4K60 RGB, confusing I know.

Assuming you and the commenters on amazon.ca are correct, I don't understand what makes Amazon think this is ok. Surely there are consumer protection laws that can keep folks who don't know better from getting screwed if they need warranty support; especially when it's not anywhere in the listing.

Wait, for real? Are all the units sold through Amazon not covered?

Solid price! Even better than it was on June 9th ($793.77) when a ton of people from RFD were buying these.

Obviously related to the CDN US exchange rate being the highest it has been in the last 2 years, since these are shipped from the US.

Amazon listings vary so much in layout and details.. but this listing does say Item Model Number: 81X20005US(it has to end in CA to be a Canadian edition). That said, it could be more clearly called out.. like perhaps in the Warranty & Support section right beside the technical details.

To clarify for everyone, it is a US model but the warranty is still valid. I registered mine back when I bought it this spring. Three months in, I discover the webcam isn't working. It says that it's a US warranty, so I filed a warranty claim through Lenovo US and they sent me a box to put it in. The return address was to their Canada repair depot. I just got it back on Fri and things are fine.

I wouldn't let the concern about cross border warranty worry you if you're interested.

What's amazon's return policy on these? I'm worried about the screen being too dim...if I try it out for a day and don't like it, can I return it? I have Prime if that changes anything.

Is opened box still 'new condition' or do they mean unopened? I'd argue a laptop used for a day is still in 'new condition' lol

Yes, will still be in "new condition" as long as there is no physical damage and modifications made to it.

Send it back as "performance or quality not adequate" since screen is to dim.

No return shipping charges for this reason.

Wow, thank you! This is even better than the previous prices. Shows 3 in stock but I just ordered one so that may be down to 2.

My wife was looking for a 2-in-1 to replace her 8 year old laptop and this one looks to be the best you can get at this price point.

Sad it doesn't have a numpad. Cant do any productivity work on my current 14" laptop without one.

I thought generally that 14" laptop =/= numpad. Wouldn't the keys be abnormally small?

You won't find one on a 14".

It's either 14" form factor or numpad, the two together are almost impossibly rare.
