It’s been at that price since it first showed up on Amazon. Its really good value with the only knock being it’s the rtx 1660ti instead of the rtx 2060, and the battery life is being 2-3 hours. Hopefully it gets a big discount on primeday or Black Friday as the rtx 3000 mobile gpus are coming real soon.

2060 is a better gpu yes but the screen quality is bad on the Asus. Bad thermals too.WilliamH85600 wrote: ↑ The one with a 2060 in it is a better deal. Better GPU and cheaper.

How does it compared to this laptop? https://www.amazon.ca/MSI-GL65-10SFK-20 ... 198&sr=8-6
I googled it and people say this MSI laptop is really good for the buck when it was posted for $1399 USD.
It has RTX 2070 but comes with Intel i7 10750H instead of a Ryzen.
Sadly, both these laptops seems to have very poor battery life. Kinda leaning towards the Asus ROG Zeph with longer battery life.

It matters to me because I might be heading back to Taiwan for awhile and want to hit up coffee shops to do some work.
It's not going to be plugged in all the time.
But yes.. when it's at home, it'll be plugged in all the time.
From the 3 you listed, I think the best is the MSI or the Legion one that's on sale as well.

I purchased this unit and discovered there is NO SD card reader slot. That sucks when downloading pics from a dedicated camera or transferring files to a 3D printer. I know there are work arounds but it just complicates things...

It’s a gaming laptop that is meant to be plugged in. It does suck it doesn’t have the 10 hour battery life like the slim portable laptops but that’s a sacrifice you gotta make. Even if it came with a longer battery life, you’re unlikely to game on it as it lags with the lack of power feeding through it. If you’re not gaming, you shouldn’t be getting this because there are better work laptops than this. Do you have suggestions that have a Ryzen 7 4000 series? I would prefer a dGPU. I've been watching this laptop, but would rather have longer battery life. Crossing my fingers that the Inspiron 5505 or the Inspiron 7000 14 2-in-1 come back but not holding my breath.bobbings wrote: ↑ It’s a gaming laptop that is meant to be plugged in. I found an HP envy x360 15, but sceptical about HP.

The Asus Zephyrus G14 is an option. It regularly goes on sale for $1499+tax. You can get open box ones for $1409+tax at Best Buy when the sale is on.BankArsonist wrote: ↑ Do you have suggestions that have a Ryzen 7 4000 series? I would prefer a dGPU. You have to adjust a few settings, but battery life of 8-10 hours under non-gaming use is doable. It's also only 3.5 pounds which gives you loads of portability.
